Live sessions are instructor-led meetings assigned to a training. They can take place online (e.g., via Zoom) or offline (in person). A live session bucket is the container of live sessions linked to a training. It can hold one or more live sessions, each representing a specific slot with a date, location/URL, and instructor.

Assigning live sessions to a training

NOTE: Live sessions are available only for advanced trainings.
Only live session buckets can be assigned to a training. You cannot assign an individual live session to a training. When creating a training, you can set a live session bucket as required to pass the training.

Registering for a live session

Learners can either register themselves or be registered by an administrator, depending on the live session bucket settings. A learner can be registered for only one live session per bucket. In the learner area, live sessions that a learner is registered for appear under My events in the calendar.

Impact on a learning path

Live sessions are managed as tools within trainings (like documents or forums), but they are not part of the learning path. For the learner, live sessions won’t appear when navigating through the training and will not block access to subsequent activities. Live sessions are not scored. Only attendance can be tracked and set as a requirement to pass the training and obtain a certificate. In this case, even if a learner finishes all modules of a training, the training will not be marked as complete until the required live session attendance is fulfilled and marked by the administrator. You can create multiple instances of the same live session for different groups. You can mark the live session attendance from the Manage live sessions dashboard.
NOTE: Training revisions do not affect live session attendance. I.e., if a learner has already attended a live session assigned to a training, and then a new revision of this training was published, the live session attendance record remains valid.
